I Swear by Menswear

Lately I have been inspired by fellow bloggers and fashionistas including Sincerely Jules, to incorporate more menswear into my closet.  It helps that I have easy access to the most fashionable and on-trend men's clothing at Banjo Outpost.  Here are a few easy summer looks, pairing women's and menswear together effortlessly.

This outfit started with this classic denim button-up by Jack & Jones, from Banjo.  It is versatile and a good piece for transitioning into menswear.  Offset a men's shirt by adding a more feminine piece, such as this large statement necklace I found at H&M.

One of my favourite accessories to steal from my husband's closet are his leather belts.  I love the rugged and high quality leather they are made of.  This one is by RVLT.

The envelope style purse from Tonic is the perfect mix of girly and tough.

The shorts from Farminista have the right amount of distress to compliment the men's denim shirt nicely.  Lastly, throw on a pair of heels (or flats if you like to be able to feel your feet) and you are ready to rock that menswear like a lady.

This second menswear look is a little more casual, perhaps for a busy day of running errands.  I based this outfit around these Zanerobe Black Leather Sureshot joggers, available through special order at Banjo (they stock lots of Zanerobe, but order the leather pieces by request),

I picked a simple Vero Moda white tee from Tonic; casual and comfortable.  The sunglasses are by Super and watch by Komono, both available at Banjo.

I love the fun colors on my New Balance 996s.  And wow, are they comfortable.  Sure beats those heels.

Finally, I'm loving the whole 90's revisitation of the shirt tied around the waist; another easy way to add menswear into your look.  This hot pink sweater from Tonic was the perfect way to add a feminine aspect to the outfit, and pickup the hot pink in the sneakers.

Try adding some menswear into your closets this fall, ladies.  It's easier than you think :)

A big thank you to Desiree Martin for the beautiful photography.
