Saskatoon’s Best Facial

When I heard about 'The Best Facial in YXE,' you know I had to check it out for myself.  I have always been obsessive about skincare.  I never miss a night of my nightly regime; cleanse, cleanse again, pat dry, tone, treat, apply serum, eye cream, facial oil, and moisturizer (that's not excessive... is it??).  I was excited to meet with Jessica Smith, the owner of Polished Beautyspa in Saskatoon.  And now I'm excited to introduce her to you!

Jessica is an expert esthetician with over 15 years of professional experience, which led her to open Polished Beautyspa & Organic Skin Care in May of 2013. She is the true definition of a boss babe.  She has overcome great trials in her life to get to where she is today.  Jessica is inspiring with her knowledge of natural skincare, passion for five-star treatment, and experience in business.  

I have tried many facial treatments around the city; always wanting to try out the newest, talked-about services available.  Friends and family members often consult me and ask for recommendations for facials and skincare.  So I was extra excited to experience a facial at Polished.

I had heard reviews about the services at Polished 'not being your average facial,' but wasn't sure what exactly to expect.  Boy was I in for a surprise!

Jessica goes above and beyond in her treatment of every single spa guest, providing five-star service, every time.  She takes the time to discuss what steps you are taking in your current skincare routine, your skincare challenges, and what results you would like to achieve from the treatment.  In previous facials, I often felt rushed and as though I didn't get sufficient opportunity to make my skin needs known.  This was not the case with Jessica.  She made sure to ask important questions and even tested out each of the products she selected for me, beforehand.  She comes up with a personalized treatment plan with products suited for each of her spa guests individual needs. 

When you are asked to completely undress and remove all jewelry, you realize this is not just a facial,  it is a total body experience! Jessica's holistic approach believes in treating the mind, body, and soul during each of her amazing facials.

Jessica's facial begins with her guiding your breath, and a meditation to promote relaxation, grounding and help quiet the mind.  She then moves into a massage...but not just a face, neck, or shoulder massage... it's a whole body experience as she releases tension, including the neck, shoulders, back, arms, and legs.  Jessica refers to her incredible massage and relaxation techniques as 'intuitive touch'.  And then she begins to focus on your face and skin, where the real magic happens!  

For my facial we focused on relieving some congestion I had been experiencing on my upper cheekbones, likely caused from makeup.  Jessica made to sure to expertly cleanse and exfoliate my skin.  I believe that a facial is only a facial if it includes extractions.. Otherwise, what's the point?  Luckily, Jessica does that too.  She uses a single use, sterile micro needle to assist in removing the congestion without trauma.  I was super pleased with the results, and there was no damage done (unlike when I get carried away in front of my 10x magnifying mirror).

Jessica brightened, smoothed, calmed and plumped my skin using several Eminence Organic Skin Care products.  We finished my treatment with one of her new Casmara 24 Karat Gold Peel-off Algae Masks. This cooling gel mask had me looking radiant, I left feeling revitalized and refreshed.  It's a celebrity favourite and if celebs love it, I love it.  Highly recommend!

After my two hour treatment with Jessica, I felt like a new woman. My skin looked amazing, I felt refreshed, revitalized, and energized. 

Following the treatment, Jessica completes a custom Eminence prescription for each of her guests,  recommending home care products to maintain the results of their facial,  based on their individual skin type and needs.  I am already an avid Eminence Organics user, but I always enjoy adding new products to my regime.  Polished carries the largest selection of Eminence Organics products in Saskatchewan.  Jessica is constantly researching to find the newest, most cutting-edge natural skincare products for her spa, and has recently added a few new lines.  She is also currently working on introducing new services including microneedling and dermaplaning (when can I sign up?!).
