Mid-Summer Style
One thing about me guys, I love summer and everything about it. As July winds down, I’m not reporting on Fall ‘22 Trends- no. I am here to shout, “long-live summer” and share all my favourite Summer ‘22 trends; what I’ve been wearing and what I’m going to be wearing for the remainder of the season. Plus, all of these ‘trends’ are forecasted to continue into resort season and next summer. So it’s the perfect time to stock up and keep your eyes out for ‘end of season’ sale prices.
MATCHING SETS
This trend has been thriving for a few seasons now and is not departing anytime soon. So embrace the beauty that is a matching set. This Zendaya bra top paired with the matching flared pants is definitely giving ‘70’s. And don’t be mistaken- the 90’s and Y2K are not the only eras of style that have returned. We’re seeing 70’s in everything from the floral patterns, to bright palettes, and flared fits. The stretch knit fabric is surprisingly wearable and comfortable, and also comes in a dress and skirt option. The swim suit style crop top might intimidate you but throw on a linen shirt and wear it opened or tied if you need a security blanket.
2. COLOUR
All we were seeing for several seasons was neutrals on neutrals on neutrals, and don’t get me wrong, I am a neutrals queen, but I was beyond ready to incorporate some life into my wardrobe. The colours are kelly green, fuchsia pink, and so much orange. I latched onto the tangerine trend heavy and it just makes me so happy. I knocked off two trends in one with this orange House of Harlow crop top and short set. It’s cotton and lightweight, perfect for a hot summer’s night out or an amusement park day with the kids. Plus the top is equally cute paired with denim. If you aren’t ready to fully embrace the rainbow, add in pops of colour with a small handbag or heel.
3. DARE TO BARE
Skin is in, babes. Hemlines are getting shorter on both tops and bottoms. The micro mini skirt is back and will continue to be relevant through fall and winter. Crop tops have been sitting pretty for a few seasons so hopefully you’ve warmed up to them by now. All bodies are crop top bodies and they are best paired with confidence. Ok, also paired well with that oversized linen shirt I mentioned earlier as well. I’m trying to check all the boxes with this orange, mini, matching set.
Other trends to watch for as summer turns to fall: tailored trousers, cargo pants, overdressed nighttime looks- sparkle, glitz, and glam.
